Peripherin is a 57 kDa type III intermediate filament protein expressed in the peripheral nervous system, where it contributes to the cytoskeletal framework of motor neurons and sensory neurons. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent targets the human peripherin sequence and is supplied by Antibodies.com as part of its primary antibody portfolio for neuroscience research.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, the antibody detects the peripherin band at its expected molecular weight in lysates from human neural sources. In immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, it highlights peripherin-positive neuronal cell bodies and axonal projections, supporting studies of motor neuron disease, peripheral neuropathies, and developmental neurobiology.

The reagent is provided as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum in a vial, unconjugated so that end users can pair it with their preferred secondary detection system. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, and reactivity has been confirmed on human samples.
