Peroxisomal trans-2-enoyl-CoA reductase (PECR) is an NADPH-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of trans-2-enoyl-CoA intermediates during peroxisomal fatty acid elongation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against the human PECR protein and is supplied as a 100 µl vial of polyclonal antiserum suitable for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples.
The reagent is reactive with human PECR and is supplied without a conjugated reporter, so researchers can pair it with their own secondary antibodies and detection chemistries. Investigators working on peroxisomal lipid metabolism, very long chain fatty acid biosynthesis, or related metabolic disorders can apply this antibody to detect endogenous PECR in cell or tissue lysates by WB and to visualize subcellular peroxisomal localization by IF staining.
For best results, aliquot the antiserum upon receipt, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 °C in a suitable buffer to preserve functional activity across multiple experiments.
