Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes PECAM-1 (also known as CD31), a roughly 130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that is widely used as a marker of vascular endothelial cells and is also expressed on platelets and selected leukocyte populations. The reagent is raised against the Ab-713 region of PECAM-1, an epitope spanning tyrosine 713, a residue whose phosphorylation modulates junctional integrity and leukocyte transmigration signaling across endothelial monolayers.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, the antibody detects human PECAM-1 and is supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of stock in a standard vial format, with no fluorophore or enzyme conjugated so investigators can pair it with their preferred secondary detection chemistry. Researchers commonly apply it to characterize endothelial barriers in tumor vasculature studies, map angiogenic remodeling in fixed tissue sections, investigate inflammatory cell extravasation in disease models, and probe PECAM-1 phosphorylation dynamics downstream of shear stress or Src-family kinase signaling in cultured human endothelial cells.
