Phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein 1 (PEBP1), also known as RKIP, is a 21 kDa scaffolding protein that negatively regulates the Raf-1/MEK/ERK signaling cascade and binds phospholipids at the membrane. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human PEBP1 and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologues, supporting comparative studies across mammalian model systems.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a cryoprotective buffer that allows storage at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Researchers apply it to western blot analysis of cell and tissue lysates, where it detects endogenous PEBP1, and to immunocytochemistry on cultured cells. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the target, which can help when probing truncated or post-translationally modified forms of the protein.

Suggested starting concentrations for immunoblotting are around 1 µg/ml, and for immunocytochemistry around 1:200, with empirical titration recommended for each sample type. Because sodium azide is included, the reagent should not be used in live-cell labeling protocols that require azide-free conditions.
