From the Antibodies.com catalog, this primary antibody is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot of unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antiserum raised against PDX1 (pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1), a homeodomain transcription factor implicated in pancreatic development, β-cell differentiation and glucose-dependent regulation of insulin gene expression. The reagent is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by antigen-affinity chromatography and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications. The antibody detects endogenous levels of total PDX1 protein in human, mouse and rat samples and shows a predicted molecular weight of approximately 30–31 kDa. It is provided in a buffered solution containing PBS (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.3, supplemented with 150 mM NaCl, 0.05% sodium azide and approximately 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and should be stored at –20 °C to preserve activity, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided. The product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Recommended detection on Western blot is around 1:500–1:1000, with typical IHC working dilutions in the 1:50–1:500 range depending on sample preparation, and compatible secondary reagents include goat anti-rabbit IgG antibodies conjugated to HRP, AP, biotin or FITC available from the same supplier. For laboratories studying pancreas development, insulin transcription or MODY4-related pathways, this Antibodies.com reagent offers a broadly reactive polyclonal tool for routine detection of PDX1 across the most commonly used model species.
