PDX1 (Pancreatic and Duodenal Homeobox 1) is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor central to pancreatic organogenesis, beta-cell differentiation, and glucose-responsive insulin gene regulation. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 100 µl volume and has been validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.

PDX1, also referenced in the literature as IPF1, IDX-1, STF-1, GSF, or IUF, serves as a nuclear marker of pancreatic islet beta cells and duodenal epithelium. It is widely used in studies of islet neogenesis, beta-cell regeneration, and the molecular pathology of monogenic diabetes subtypes such as MODY4, in which PDX1 loss-of-function variants impair insulin secretion. PDX1 immunostaining is also applied to monitor differentiation of stem-cell-derived beta-like cells in vitro.

Raised in rabbit and reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, the antibody supports cross-species investigations in rodent models of diabetes and in human pancreatic tissue. For western blot, it is applied to nuclear or whole-cell lysates to detect the endogenous protein, while for IHC it is used on formalin-fixed pancreatic sections to reveal islet architecture. Store the vial frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light; equilibrate on ice before each use. This reagent is supplied for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
