Developmental and diabetes researchers rely on Antibodies.com for affinity reagents that detect pancreatic and duodenal homeobox-1 (PDX-1), a homeodomain transcription factor encoded on human chromosome 13q12.1 that governs pancreas organogenesis, beta-cell differentiation, and glucose-regulated insulin gene transcription. This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent is supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl vial and validated for western blot detection of endogenous PDX-1 in mouse tissue lysates and cell extracts, including the widely used Beta-TC-6 mouse insulinoma line that serves as a beta-cell model. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across the PDX-1 sequence, which is valuable when probing truncated isoforms or post-translationally modified species that resolve between approximately 40 and 46 kDa on SDS-PAGE, larger than the predicted ~31 kDa mass as reported in the literature. Typical applications include studies of pancreas development, mature islet biology, MODY4 and pancreatic agenesis models, stem-cell-to-beta-cell differentiation protocols, and chromatin or transcription-factor research on the insulin promoter where PDX-1 cooperates with BETA2/NeuroD1, E47, and p300. Aliquot on receipt and store at -20 °C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve IgG binding activity over the shelf life of the reagent. Pair with an anti-rabbit HRP or fluorescent secondary and resolve targets on standard SDS-PAGE gels. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
