Podoplanin, encoded by the PDPN gene, is a transmembrane mucin-like glycoprotein best known for marking lymphatic endothelium, kidney podocytes, and type I alveolar cells. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, reactive against human podoplanin for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. In research and pathology settings, it is used to highlight lymphatic vessel endothelium in formalin-fixed tissue sections and to evaluate lymphovascular invasion in tumors such as oral squamous cell carcinoma, breast carcinoma, and gliomas. The polyclonal host response gives broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which is useful when probing PDPN splice variants or partially degraded material. Aliquot upon first use, store refrigerated, and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity; this reagent is intended for research use only.
