Podoplanin (PDPN) is a transmembrane sialoglycoprotein routinely used as a selective marker for lymphatic endothelial cells, fibroblastic reticular cells of the lymph node stroma, type I alveolar epithelium of the lung, and kidney podocytes. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human PDPN molecule and is supplied as 200 µl of liquid antiserum in a vial, intended for western blot workflows on human-derived lysates.

The antibody is validated for WB application, where it produces a band at the expected molecular weight of podoplanin, approximately 36 to 43 kDa depending on glycosylation state. Researchers studying tumor lymphangiogenesis, oral squamous cell carcinoma progression, malignant mesothelioma diagnostics, and glomerular kidney injury commonly select PDPN reagents to distinguish lymphatic from blood vascular endothelium, and to assess PDPN upregulation as a prognostic indicator in several solid tumors.

Polyclonal IgG reactivity against multiple epitopes of the native extracellular domain supports robust recognition across tissue lysates where post-translational glycosylation patterns vary. Aliquot the antibody upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use, and freeze at -20 °C in working aliquots for longer-term storage; the buffer contains sodium azide as a preservative.
