Raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, this unconjugated reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

PDLIM5 (PDZ and LIM domain 5), also known as Enigma Homolog, is a cytoskeletal scaffold protein containing a single N-terminal PDZ domain followed by three tandem LIM zinc-finger motifs. It anchors at focal adhesions and actin stress fibers, acting as an adapter that links the actin cytoskeleton to downstream kinase cascades, including protein kinase C and LIM kinase signaling.

Researchers have used PDLIM5-specific polyclonal antibodies to investigate cardiac stress and hypertrophy signaling, neuronal differentiation, and remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton in tumor cell migration. The protein is normally expressed in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle, with reported upregulation in several carcinoma cell lines.

Provided as a 100 µl aliquot in a single-use vial, this Antibodies.com antibody supports multiple rounds of immunostaining, membrane-based detection, and fluorescent imaging experiments, and is recommended for storage at -20°C in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
