Pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 subunit beta (PDHB) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that forms the beta subunit of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, and this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human protein for use in Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. The PDH complex catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA, making PDHB a frequently used mitochondrial marker and metabolic reference target in studies of cellular respiration, mitochondrial biogenesis, and metabolic disease.

The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and it shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting translational research workflows across standard laboratory models. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the approximately 39 kDa PDHB protein, which is useful when working with samples where post-translational modification or partial degradation may obscure individual epitopes.

Store the vial at -20 degrees C in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the 50% glycerol formulation prevents ice crystal formation and keeps the antibody stable for routine bench use. Protect from light and handle with appropriate PPE because the solution contains sodium azide as a preservative. The antibody is supplied as a single-use liquid aliquot that can be further diluted into working stocks for repeated short-term applications.
