Anti-PDGFB Antibody

PDGFB encodes Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Subunit B, a disulfide-linked dimeric ligand that activates PDGFR-α and PDGFR-β tyrosine kinase receptors on mesenchymal cells. The Antibodies.com anti-PDGFB reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody developed for detection of this growth factor in research samples.

This unconjugated primary antibody is supplied at 100 µl volume and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry. It cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat PDGFB, enabling comparative studies across species. As a polyclonal reagent, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the PDGF-B chain, supporting detection of both the mature processed dimer and the precursor propeptide forms.

Common research applications include characterizing PDGFB expression in tumor microenvironments where it drives pericyte recruitment and angiogenesis, profiling fibrotic tissue remodeling in renal, hepatic, and pulmonary disease models, and confirming expression of the COL1A1-PDGFB fusion transcript characteristic of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. The reagent is also used in studies of vascular development, wound healing cascades, and smooth muscle cell responses in atherosclerosis models. For Western blot, lysates from PDGF-BB-expressing cell lines such as human platelets or stimulated fibroblasts serve as positive controls.

For optimal performance, aliquot the antibody upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the vial at -20°C in working aliquots. Allow the reagent to equilibrate on ice before dilution into blocking buffer.
