PCNA (Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen) is a 36 kDa nuclear protein that functions as a sliding clamp for DNA polymerase and serves as a standard marker for cell proliferation across cancer biology, developmental studies, and cell cycle research. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against PCNA and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of secondary reporter, fluorophore, or enzyme conjugate to the end user, and the 100 µL vial supports multiple experiments depending on dilution. In IHC and IF, anti-PCNA staining labels nuclei in S-phase cells and is used to score proliferative indices in tumor sections and regenerating tissues. In Western blot of nuclear extracts, the strong ~36 kDa band serves both as a confirmation of proliferating populations and as a loading reference. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes on PCNA can help where monoclonal reagents give weaker signal in formalin-fixed or cross-linked specimens.
