PCK1 (Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase 1, cytosolic isoform) is the cytosolic paralog of the rate-limiting gluconeogenic enzyme that catalyses the conversion of oxaloacetate into phosphoenolpyruvate. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against human PCK1 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is unconjugated so it can be paired with HRP, fluorophore, biotin, or other secondary reagents as the workflow demands. Each vial contains 100 µL of concentrated stock; dilute into blocking buffer for immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates, or apply directly to fixed, paraffin-embedded sections for chromogenic immunohistochemistry.

PCK1 is most strongly expressed in liver and kidney, where cytosolic PEPCK activity drives hepatic glucose output during fasting. Investigators working on hepatic gluconeogenesis, insulin signalling, the fasting response, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and tumour metabolic reprogramming routinely use anti-PCK1 antibodies to monitor protein abundance and tissue distribution. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognising PCK1 even when a single epitope is masked by fixation or denaturation. Refrigerate upon receipt and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the concentrated stock to preserve activity.
