Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1 (PCK1, also called PEPCK-C) is the cytosolic isoform of the enzyme that catalyzes the GTP-dependent decarboxylation of oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate, committing substrates to gluconeogenesis in hepatocytes and renal proximal tubule cells. This unconjugated rabbit IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of liquid antibody intended for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The polyclonal pAb detects endogenous PCK1 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies that track the same enzyme across rodent disease models and clinical specimens.

In murine liver, PCK1 accounts for roughly 95% of total PEPCK activity, and the enzyme is similarly enriched in human and rodent kidney cortex, where it couples fasting-driven glucose output to ammoniagenesis and cataplerosis of the TCA cycle. Researchers investigating insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and acidosis-driven renal gluconeogenesis routinely probe PCK1 levels to monitor pathway flux in response to cAMP, glucocorticoid, or PPAR-agonist interventions, while cancer metabolism groups are increasingly interested in PCK1 because the same cytosolic reaction supplies PEP for biosynthesis in nutrient-stressed tumors.

Aliquot on receipt, store at -20 °C, and protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve titer. The antibody recognizes the target near the 69 kDa band expected for full-length PCK1. Suggested Western blot dilution is 1:500–1:1000, with optimization recommended for IHC and IF depending on fixation and antigen retrieval conditions. For research use only.
