Description

PCDHAC1 (Protocadherin Alpha Subfamily C1) is a member of the clustered protocadherin family encoded within the human PCDHA gene cluster on chromosome 5q31, a locus that generates diverse cell-surface recognition proteins critical for neuronal wiring. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against PCDHAC1 and is validated for Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry on human samples, supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial.

The reagent enables detection of protocadherin alpha-C1 expression in neuronal tissues and cell lines, supporting studies of cadherin-mediated homophilic adhesion, synapse specification, and the molecular basis of neuronal self-avoidance. Investigators studying brain development, neural circuit formation, or the contribution of clustered protocadherins to neurological disease use this antibody to map PCDHAC1 protein distribution and to probe the diversity-generating mechanism by which individual neurons express distinct protocadherin isoforms. The unconjugated format offers flexibility for downstream labeling with fluorophores, biotin, or HRP chosen to suit the experimental design.

For research use only. To preserve polyclonal reactivity across multiple experiments, aliquot on receipt and protect the antibody from repeated freeze-thaw cycles, following the storage conditions specified on the accompanying datasheet.
