The PCCB gene encodes the beta subunit of propionyl-CoA carboxylase, a biotin-dependent mitochondrial enzyme that converts propionyl-CoA to D-methylmalonyl-CoA during catabolism of odd-chain fatty acids and the branched-chain amino acids valine, isoleucine, methionine, and threonine. Loss-of-function variants in this subunit cause propionic acidemia type II, making the protein a recurring focus of metabolic disease research.
This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human PCCB target and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologs. It is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, unconjugated and validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The reagent is intended for research use only in studies of organic acid metabolism, mitochondrial enzyme biogenesis, and related disease models.
For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
