The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal reagent targets PCBD1 (pterin-4-alpha-carbinolamine dehydratase 1), a small dual-function protein best known as the dimerization cofactor of hepatocyte nuclear factor 1-alpha (HNF1A) and as an enzyme that recycles tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) from its carbinolamine form. Because BH4 is the essential cofactor for phenylalanine hydroxylase, this antibody is widely used by laboratories working on hepatic metabolism, phenylalanine handling, and the transcriptional programs controlled by HNF1A in hepatocytes and pancreatic beta cells.

Validated in Western blot and immunofluorescence, the unconjugated polyclonal antibody is supplied as 100 µl of rabbit serum and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers apply it to map PCBD1 expression across liver, kidney, and pancreatic tissue, to probe HNF1A-dependent gene regulation in cell culture models, and to characterize variants linked to hyperphenylalaninemia and other BH4-related metabolic phenotypes. Unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary antibodies for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection in research use only workflows.
