Polyclonal antibody reagents against PBOV1 (Prostate and Breast Cancer Overexpressed 1) are used in cancer biology research to localize and quantify this protein across patient samples and model systems. The target, also annotated as UROC28 and URP1, maps to chromosome 6 and was originally identified through differential expression screens in prostate and breast carcinoma. Follow-up work has linked elevated PBOV1 levels to a subset of hormone-driven tumors and to pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against PBOV1 and supplied as a 100 µl liquid vial. The polyclonal format exposes the reagent to multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve signal in formalin-fixed tissue where individual residues may be crosslinked or chemically modified. The antibody has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, and it cross-reacts with both human and mouse PBOV1, supporting parallel studies in patient biopsies, cell-line xenografts, and genetically engineered mouse models. Because PBOV1 has no robust enzymatic assay, expression is generally inferred from band intensity on immunoblots or from chromogen deposition in stained tissue sections.

Researchers commonly use this reagent to compare PBOV1 levels between matched tumor and adjacent-normal tissue, and to ask whether expression correlates with Gleason grade, ER/PR status, or other clinical variables. The unconjugated format makes the antibody compatible with any HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-tagged secondary reagent, and it is supplied for research use only.
