Description

Paxillin is a focal adhesion phosphoprotein that serves as a scaffold at integrin engagement sites, recruiting structural and signaling proteins to sites of cell-matrix contact. The Antibodies.com Anti-Paxillin (Ab-88) Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent that detects paxillin in human samples and is validated for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows.

The unconjugated IgG preparation is used to map paxillin localization at focal adhesions, monitor integrin-dependent signaling events, and track changes in cytoskeletal organization during studies of cell adhesion, migration, and cancer invasion. Paxillin is phosphorylated on tyrosine and serine residues by FAK and Src-family kinases, and antibodies that detect total paxillin are standard tools in adhesion signaling research.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antisera, intended for research use only. For best stability, the antibody should be stored at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protected from light once thawed. Buffer choice should be matched to the downstream application, with non-fat dry milk or BSA blocking for western blot and matched serum blocks for immunofluorescence on fixed cells.

Documentation supplied with the lot lists the antigen, host species, clonality, conjugate status, and species reactivity profile. The reagent is described as reactive with human paxillin; reactivity with other species has not been confirmed by the manufacturer, so researchers using mouse, rat, or other model samples are advised to validate cross-reactivity empirically under their own assay conditions.
