Anti-PAX2 Antibody

PAX2 (Paired Box 2) is a nuclear transcription factor essential during embryonic development of the kidney, eye, and central nervous system, and is widely used in research as a lineage marker for renal tubular epithelium and as a diagnostic adjunct in Wilms tumor and clear cell renal cell carcinoma studies.

Polyclonal preparations are often selected for developmental transcription factors because the multi-epitope coverage increases the chance of detecting alternative splice isoforms and orthologous proteins across species.

For Western blot, the antibody is used to confirm PAX2 expression in renal cell lines and tissue lysates, resolving a band near the expected molecular weight of the full-length protein. For immunofluorescence, it produces nuclear staining patterns in developing kidney sections and cultured renal progenitor cells, making it useful for tracking nephron progenitor populations during organogenesis studies.
