A rabbit-derived primary reagent from Antibodies.com, this polyclonal preparation targets the alpha isoform of parvalbumin, an EF-hand calcium-binding protein of roughly 12 kDa that is widely used as a marker for fast-twitch skeletal muscle fibers and a defined subset of GABAergic inhibitory interneurons, including cortical basket and chandelier cells, Purkinje cells, and deep cerebellar nuclei neurons. Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. Each vial provides 100 µl of working reagent suitable for routine immunoblotting of whole-cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and fractionated muscle or nervous system extracts in neuroscience and muscle physiology research laboratories.
