This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against PARK2 (Parkin), a cytosolic E3 ubiquitin ligase of approximately 52 kDa that drives PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy. The reagent is supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting parallel work in rodent disease models and human post-mortem or biopsy tissue. Loss-of-function mutations in PARK2 are the most frequent genetic cause of autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinsonism, and this antibody is widely used to investigate mitochondrial quality control, dopaminergic neuron survival, and ubiquitin–proteasome pathway biology. The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes across the Parkin protein, which is helpful when resolving full-length protein from the shorter isoforms and cleavage fragments reported under proteasome inhibition and oxidative stress. Researchers studying mitophagy flux, Lewy body pathology, or familial parkinsonism genetics will find this reagent compatible with standard SDS-PAGE lysates, fixed paraffin-embedded sections, and cultured cell monolayers.
