Anti-PANK2 Antibody

Generated in rabbit against human PANK2, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes Pantothenate Kinase 2, the mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the first committed step of coenzyme A biosynthesis from pantothenate (vitamin B5). PANK2 loss-of-function mutations underlie Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN), an autosomal recessive form of neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation, so the reagent is widely used to investigate mitochondrial CoA synthesis, neuronal iron homeostasis, and related disease models in cell and tissue lysates.

Validated for Western blot application and reactive against human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
