A rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com that targets p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) for Western blot detection in mouse-derived samples. The unconjugated primary antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid volume and is intended for immunoblotting workflows in which an HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibody is applied downstream.

PAK1 belongs to the STE20 group of serine/threonine kinases and is recruited to the plasma membrane by GTP-bound Cdc42 and Rac1, where autophosphorylation at Thr423 activates the kinase toward substrates that drive cytoskeletal remodeling, focal-adhesion turnover, cell migration, mitosis, and survival signaling through MAPK and PI3K pathways. Investigators studying Rho-family GTPase signaling, growth-factor-driven invasion, or neuronal pathfinding rely on antibodies against this ~61 kDa kinase to monitor endogenous expression and phosphorylation changes in mouse cell lines and tissue lysates.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody binds several epitopes across the target, an advantage when probing for isoform variants or post-translationally modified PAK1 species in reducing SDS-PAGE gels. The product is mouse-reactive based on validation in this species; reactivity against other species has not been confirmed. For best results, refrigerate the antibody upon arrival, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light until use in western blot assays.
