Anti-PAICS Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets PAICS, the bifunctional enzyme Phosphoribosylaminoimidazole Carboxylase / Phosphoribosylaminoimidazole Succinocarboxamide Synthetase, which catalyzes two consecutive steps in the de novo purine biosynthesis pathway. Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary reagent, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of ready-to-use reagent and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows against human samples.

The antibody was raised in rabbit and recognizes endogenous PAICS expressed in human tissues and cell lines, making it a useful tool for studies of nucleotide metabolism, cancer cell proliferation, and the metabolic vulnerabilities of tumors that rely on heavy flux through the purine biosynthesis pathway. Researchers investigating leukemia, lung adenocarcinoma, and other malignancies in which PAICS is overexpressed can apply this reagent to confirm expression patterns at the protein level, supporting work in tumor metabolism and the search for synthetic-lethal targets in purine-dependent cancers.

For Western blot, the reagent is applied to whole cell lysates separated by SDS-PAGE, where it produces a band consistent with the expected molecular weight of the PAICS protein. For immunohistochemistry, it performs well on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, enabling visualization of PAICS distribution in tumor and normal specimens.
