The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody reagent targets p68 RNA helicase, a DEAD-box RNA helicase (DDX5) implicated in transcriptional regulation, pre-mRNA splicing, ribosome biogenesis, and the DNA damage response pathway through its interaction with p53. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the 100 µl vial format is formulated for routine laboratory use across western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The antibody cross-reacts with conserved epitopes shared by human, mouse, and rat DDX5 orthologs, enabling translational studies in cell lines and tissue sections from each species.

p68 has been studied extensively in oncology contexts, where its overexpression marks proliferative states in colorectal, breast, and lung tumours, and in developmental biology, where conditional knockouts in murine models reveal roles in embryonic stem cell pluripotency and cardiac morphogenesis. Researchers investigating alternative splicing, R-loop resolution, or stress granule dynamics commonly use anti-DDX5 probes to track nuclear and cytoplasmic distribution patterns. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing buffer, and the sodium azide preservative should be kept in mind when planning live-cell or downstream conjugation assays.
