The polyclonal reagent targets p63 (TP63), a p53-family transcription factor essential for epithelial development, squamous lineage commitment, and stem cell maintenance. Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated antibody recognizes an epitope conserved across multiple p63 isoforms and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) in human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers routinely deploy it as a nuclear marker for basal and myoepithelial cells in prostate, breast, and cervical tissue, and as a discriminator between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of the lung.

The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, packaged in a 100 µl vial. Sodium azide interferes with amine-based conjugation chemistries and should be removed by dialysis or desalting if direct HRP or fluorophore labeling is planned. Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage; the 50% glycerol cryoprotectant permits short-term handling at 4 °C without immediate loss of activity.

From Antibodies.com, this reagent suits studies of epithelial differentiation, tumor pathology, and developmental biology, with reactivity to TP63 orthologs across commonly used mammalian model systems.
