The p57 protein, encoded by the CDKN1C gene, is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor belonging to the CIP/KIP family. It drives cell cycle arrest at the G1 phase and is essential for proper embryonic development, genomic imprinting, and the differentiation of multiple tissues.
The rabbit polyclonal Anti-p57 Antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against this cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor and is validated for Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA applications. Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent detects endogenous p57 in both Human and Mouse samples, supporting cross-species research workflows.
In laboratory settings, this primary antibody is used to investigate cell proliferation control, tumor suppressor pathways, and imprinting disorders such as Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome. It is also applied in placental and trophoblast biology, where p57 expression serves as a marker for maternally-derived tissues, and in cancer research exploring loss of cell cycle regulation in Wilms tumor and other pediatric or adult malignancies.
