The p53 tumor suppressor is acetylated at lysine 386 (K386) by p300/CBP acetyltransferases, a post-translational modification linked to its stabilization and sequence-specific DNA binding following genotoxic stress. Anti-p53 (Acetyl-K386) Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent that selectively recognizes this activated, acetylated form of p53 in cell lysates.
Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 15 mM sodium azide (pH 7.2), the unconjugated antibody is validated for Western blot detection in human and rat samples. It is used to monitor the DNA damage response, study post-translational regulation of p53 in tumor cell lines, and probe apoptosis pathways triggered by UV irradiation or chemotherapeutic agents.
For best stability, store at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage across the acetylated C-terminal regulatory domain, which helps preserve signal across minor conformational variation in denatured lysates.
