The 10E5 clone from Antibodies.com recognizes human p53 when acetylated at lysine 120 (K120ac), a post-translational modification deposited primarily by the Tip60/KAT5 acetyltransferase in response to DNA damage. Unlike acetylation at C-terminal lysines such as K373 and K382, which drives transcription of cell-cycle arrest genes, K120 acetylation is specifically required for p53 to activate pro-apoptotic targets including BAX and PUMA, making this reagent useful for dissecting apoptosis-oriented versus growth-arrest signaling in cellular assays.

Supplied at 100 µg per vial as a liquid, unconjugated mouse IgG1 antibody, the reagent is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and ELISA on human samples. For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to preserve recognition of the acetyl-K120 epitope.
