The p47-phox subunit (NCF1) of the phagocyte NADPH oxidase complex is the target of this rabbit polyclonal IgG preparation, raised against a synthetic peptide region encompassing residue P366. Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody has been validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, demonstrating cross-reactivity across all three species.

p47-phox functions as the cytosolic organizer that, upon phosphorylation, translocates together with p67-phox, p40-phox, and Rac-GTP to the membrane-bound flavocytochrome b558 to assemble an active oxidase and drive the respiratory burst in neutrophils and macrophages. The antibody is used to probe oxidative burst signaling, redox biology in inflammation, vascular and cardiac oxidative stress, and the molecular pathology of chronic granulomatous disease, in which autosomal recessive NCF1 mutations generate a nonfunctional or absent p47-phox and a corresponding loss of superoxide production.

Each vial contains 100 µl of the affinity-purified antibody. For long-term storage, keep refrigerated and protect from light; do not subject the azide-containing buffer to repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and aliquot upon first use if frequent sampling is anticipated. Working dilutions should be titrated for individual western blot and IHC protocols, with heat-induced epitope retrieval appropriate for formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue. For research use only.
