Anti-p38 Antibody

Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl unconjugated mouse monoclonal, this anti-p38 reagent is formulated in TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. The IgG2a isotype antibody pairs readily with secondary detection reagents chosen by the researcher and is validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry workflows targeting the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase.

Reactivity has been confirmed in human and mouse samples, and the reagent is not characterized for other species. Researchers use it to probe the stress-activated MAPK cascade, including studies of inflammatory cytokine signaling, cellular differentiation, UV- and osmotic-stress responses, and apoptosis-related signaling. In western blot it resolves total and phosphorylated p38 across cell lysates and tissue homogenates; in immunocytochemistry it localizes the kinase within fixed cells and subcellular compartments, while in immunohistochemistry it reveals p38 distribution across tissue sections, supporting work in cell biology, immunology, neuroscience, and translational disease research.

The 40% glycerol component acts as a cryoprotectant so the antibody can be kept refrigerated without freezing, simplifying handling for frequent bench use.
