This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets p140Cap, also called SRCIN1, an adaptor protein that regulates Src-family kinase activity at neuronal synapses and has emerged as a regulator of cell adhesion and motility in non-neuronal tissues. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

p140Cap was originally characterized as a binding partner of Csk and the Src-family kinase Fyn, helping to constrain kinase output at excitatory synapses and to organize the actin cytoskeleton of dendritic spines. Subsequent work has linked SRCIN1 expression to epithelial-mesenchymal programs and to tumor-suppressive phenotypes in breast and other cancers, where loss of p140Cap correlates with increased invasiveness. Researchers investigating these systems use the antibody to detect endogenous SRCIN1 in cell lysates, primary neuron cultures, and tumor tissue extracts.

For Western blot, the reagent is applied to whole-cell or tissue lysates prepared in standard RIPA or NP-40 buffers, with the polyclonal format enabling recognition of multiple epitopes on the SRCIN1 polypeptide. This can be advantageous when probing truncated splice variants or post-translationally modified forms. The product is provided as a liquid aliquot; for best stability it should be kept refrigerated, with longer-term storage at -20 °C in small working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
