Anti-P-Cadherin (G78) Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets P-Cadherin (also known as CDH3 or placental cadherin), a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. Raised against the G78 epitope located in the extracellular domain of human CDH3, the reagent is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to approximately pH 7.2.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the antibody cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologues in addition to the human target, making it useful for translational studies that compare cadherin expression across species. Investigators apply it to track cadherin switching during epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, monitor stratification of embryonic and placental epithelia, and characterise aberrant P-Cadherin expression reported in basal-like breast carcinoma as well as gastric and oesophageal cancers. Each vial contains 100 µL of the polyclonal preparation; aliquoting on arrival is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity throughout the working shelf life.
