This polyclonal reagent targets OTX2, a homeodomain-containing transcription factor best known for its role in anterior brain patterning, retinal cell specification, and pituitary gland development. Aberrant OTX2 expression is linked to medulloblastoma subgroups and certain craniofacial anomalies, making it a useful marker in neurodevelopment and oncology research.
From Antibodies.com, the antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers commonly apply it to characterize OTX2 distribution in developing neural tissue, to probe tumor biopsies for OTX2-positive cell populations, and to follow expression changes in cell-line models of differentiation.
The reagent ships as a liquid aliquot ready for dilution into standard blocking buffers, and performs on fixed paraffin-embedded sections as well as on whole-cell lysates separated by SDS-PAGE. Keep refrigerated; the supplied volume is sufficient for multiple blot and staining experiments.
