Ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) is the mitochondrial matrix enzyme that condenses ornithine with carbamoyl phosphate to produce citrulline, a central step of the urea cycle. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against OTC and binds the human and mouse proteins, supporting investigations of OTC deficiency, hyperammonemia mechanisms, hepatic gene-expression studies, and comparative work between patient-derived samples and murine disease models. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, where it can be applied to liver homogenates, frozen or paraffin-embedded tissue sections, and cultured mammalian cell lysates to detect endogenous OTC expression. Aliquot and store frozen to preserve antibody activity across multiple experiments.
