Anti-OTC Antibody

Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody is raised against Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase (OTC) and supplied unconjugated in a liquid format. It is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and it reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples.

The immunogen is a recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 215–354 of human OTC (NP_000522.3). The antibody is affinity purified and supplied in phosphate buffered saline at pH 7.3 with 50% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide. The target protein has a reported molecular weight of 38 kDa. For Western blotting, a recommended dilution range of 1:1,000–1:4,000 is suggested. The product is shipped at 4°C and should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

OTC is a mitochondrial enzyme with tissue-specific expression enriched in intestine and liver, encoded on the X chromosome (38352586–38421446, ENSG00000036473). The mouse ortholog is Otc (ENSMUSG00000031173), and the human protein is catalogued under UniProt P00480.
