OSTM1 (Osteopetrosis-Associated Transmembrane Protein 1) is a type I transmembrane protein that localizes to lysosomal membranes in osteoclasts, where it partners with the ClC-7 chloride-proton exchanger to drive acidification of the resorption lacuna. Loss-of-function mutations in the gene cause autosomal recessive infantile osteopetrosis, making the protein a long-standing focus of bone disease and lysosomal transport research.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human OSTM1 and validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous protein in cell and tissue lysates. The product is supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated IgG, ready for use in standard chemiluminescent or fluorescent immunoblotting on PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes.

For best results, store at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity across multiple experiments; working stocks may be kept briefly at 4°C. Investigators studying osteoclast biology, rare skeletal disease models, and chloride channel function rely on this antibody for reproducible band detection at the predicted molecular weight of human OSTM1.
