Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal primary antibody targets ornithine decarboxylase (ODC1), the rate-limiting enzyme that converts ornithine to putrescine during polyamine biosynthesis. Supplied at 100 µg per vial in an unconjugated format, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications on human samples.

Because polyamine production is tightly linked to cell proliferation, ODC expression is frequently examined in studies of tumor growth, differentiation, and cellular stress responses. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage across the target than a monoclonal antibody, making it useful for detecting native protein in both lysate and tissue-section workflows. Unconjugated presentation allows flexible pairing with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries, depending on the chosen detection chemistry.

For Western blot, samples prepared in standard lysis buffer can be resolved on SDS-PAGE and transferred for probing. For IHC, paraffin-embedded or frozen human tissue sections are compatible with the validated protocol. Standard primary antibody handling applies: refrigerate short-term and freeze working aliquots for longer storage, protected from light. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be minimized to preserve binding activity.
