Anti-ORC2 Antibody

ORC2 forms part of the six-subunit ORC (ORC1–ORC6) complex, which licenses replication origins during the G1 phase of the eukaryotic cell cycle.

Within the pre-replication complex, ORC2 contributes to the cooperative loading of Cdc6, Cdt1, and the MCM2-7 helicase at origin sites, marking chromosomes for DNA synthesis before S-phase entry. The antibody supports studies on replication initiation, chromatin association of replication factors, S-phase checkpoint control, and the cellular response to replication stress in proliferating populations. It is also used in cancer biology research examining ORC subunit expression and origin licensing in transformed cell lines.

For western blot, the antibody is applied to whole-cell or nuclear extracts from cultured human cell lines, with detection by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies and chemiluminescent readout.
