ORC1 (Origin Recognition Complex Subunit 1) is the largest subunit of the six-protein ORC assembly that marks replication origins in eukaryotic chromatin and licenses the initiation of DNA synthesis each cell cycle. This rabbit polyclonal antibody, raised against human ORC1, supports studies of replication licensing, S-phase entry, and chromatin organization in dividing human cells.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl volume of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum raised in rabbit, the reagent is validated for Western blot applications and ELISA. Researchers use it to probe lysates from HeLa, HEK293, and other human cell lines, where it yields a band at the expected molecular weight for ORC1, and to track how ORC1 levels change between G1, S, and G2 phases. Loss-of-function mutations in ORC1 cause Meier-Gorlin syndrome, a rare form of primordial dwarfism, and anti-ORC1 antibodies appear in the cell-biology literature as tools to model this disorder in patient-derived fibroblasts and conditional knockout systems.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with a researcher's chosen secondary reagent (HRP, Alexa Fluor, IRDye, or biotin conjugates) for chemiluminescent Western blotting or immunofluorescence on nitrocellulose, PVDF, or fixed-cell substrates without further purification.
