Anti-OPG Antibody

Targeting osteoprotegerin, a soluble decoy receptor of the TNF receptor superfamily that neutralizes RANKL and restrains osteoclastogenesis, this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Endogenous OPG is detected in human, mouse, and rat specimens, supporting studies of bone remodeling, skeletal pathology, vascular calcification, periodontal disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and the RANK/RANKL/OPG axis in metastatic bone disease.

The reagent is provided as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant. Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20°C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles, and protect the vial from light. In immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes the approximately 55 kDa monomer that circulates as a 110 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer, with working concentrations typically around 1–2 µg/ml. For IHC, paraffin-embedded sections of bone, cartilage, aorta, and kidney are routinely evaluated to map osteoblast, endothelial, and vascular smooth muscle expression.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, researchers can pair it with HRP, alkaline phosphatase, biotin–streptavidin, or fluorescent secondary reagents matched to their detection platform.
