Raised in rabbit against the olfactomedin domain of human OLFM1 (also known as Noelin/AMY), this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated, glycerol-stabilized stock at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide. The 100 µl vial is formulated for direct labeling in immunodetection workflows and is validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications across human, mouse, and rat samples.

OLFM1 is a secreted olfactomedin-family glycoprotein most strongly expressed in neural tissue, where it contributes to early neuronal differentiation, dorsal neural tube patterning, and modulation of Wnt signaling. Researchers studying neurodevelopment, gliomas, and certain epithelial carcinomas have used OLFM1 expression as a marker of differentiation status and signaling pathway activity. The reagent recognizes the full-length olfactomedin-bearing precursor and detects endogenous levels of OLFM1 in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections.

Recommended handling: store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect the solution from light exposure. For Western blot, typical loading of 20–40 µg of total protein per lane is sufficient, while immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections generally benefits from antigen retrieval in citrate buffer at pH 6.0 prior to overnight primary incubation.
