Osteoglycin (OGN), also called mimecan, is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan that contributes to collagen fibril organization in connective tissues including bone, cartilage, tendon, and the corneal stroma. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit, detects the human protein, and is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, packaged as a 100 µl aliquot per vial for use across multiple experiments.

The reagent has been validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), supporting studies of extracellular matrix biology, skeletal development, wound healing, fibrosis, and tumor microenvironment research. Because the host is rabbit, the antibody pairs with commonly available anti-rabbit IgG secondaries carrying HRP, biotin, or fluorophore labels, enabling chromogenic, chemiluminescent, and immunofluorescence detection in lysates, tissue sections, and conditioned media.

For long-term projects, aliquoting upon first thaw is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and storage at -20 °C preserves binding activity. Brief centrifugation before use clears any aggregated protein that may form after prolonged storage.
