Occludin is a ~65 kDa integral-membrane tight-junction protein encoded by OCLN, and the Antibodies.com Anti-OCLN polyclonal reagent is a rabbit-hosted, unconjugated primary antibody validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples. Supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, it supports studies of epithelial and endothelial barrier integrity, where Occludin serves as a structural and functional marker of apical junctional complexes.

Occludin localizes to tight-junction strands between neighboring cells and is investigated in gastrointestinal permeability models, blood-brain barrier research, and inflammatory or infectious systems that disrupt junctional architecture. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes along the target, aiding detection under denaturing western blot conditions and across antigen-retrieval protocols in tissue-section staining. OCLN is often paired with ZO-1 and claudin markers when characterizing tight-junction status in cell culture and tissue models relevant to celiac disease, IBD, and CNS endothelial biology.

As an unconjugated reagent, this antibody is compatible with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for flexible detection chemistries. Refrigerate on receipt and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody titer. For research use only workflows, the Antibodies.com Anti-OCLN reagent enables reproducible immunolabeling of tight-junction structures across experimental systems.
