OATP1, encoded by the SLCO1A2 gene, is a solute carrier organic anion transporter localized to the plasma membrane of hepatocytes, enterocytes, and the blood-brain barrier. Polyclonal rabbit antibodies raised against this multi-pass membrane protein are used to characterize transporter expression in human tissues and cell lines.

This unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of rabbit polyclonal antiserum reactive with human OATP1. Validated for western blot analysis of membrane fractions, immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed tissue sections, and ELISA-based quantification in cell lysates, the reagent leaves detection chemistry open to the user's choice of HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies.

Common research applications include profiling drug transporter expression in hepatic and tumor tissue microarrays, monitoring overexpression or siRNA knockdown in transfected cell models, and screening small molecules for transporter-mediated uptake. Polyclonal reactivity increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on the transporter, supporting consistent detection across western blot, IHC, and ELISA workflows.
