Raised in rabbit against the 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase 1 (OAS1) target, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows and has been confirmed to react with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of the innate immune response.

OAS1 is an interferon-stimulated enzyme that catalyzes the formation of 2',5'-linked oligoadenylates, which in turn activate latent RNase L and trigger RNA degradation in virus-infected cells. Because of this central role in type I interferon signaling, the antibody is widely used to track viral restriction pathways, characterize ISG induction in cell culture models, and probe tissue-level expression patterns by IHC. Best practice is to aliquot upon arrival to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the 50% glycerol formulation keeps the antibody in a ready-to-use liquid state suitable for short-term refrigerated handling, while long-term storage at -20 °C is recommended to preserve binding activity over time.
