The Anti-NUP98 Antibody [21A10] from Antibodies.com targets Nucleoporin 98 (NUP98), a structural component of the nuclear pore complex that mediates nucleocytoplasmic transport of mRNA and proteins. This mouse monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 isotype, supplied as a 100µg liquid preparation, is widely used in studies of nuclear pore architecture, mRNA export, and the pathogenic role of NUP98 fusion oncoproteins in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL).

Clone 21A10 was raised against the N-terminal FG-repeat-containing region of human NUP98 and has been used in published work on nuclear pore complex assembly, mitotic disassembly, and chromatin-associated NUP98 functions. A notable feature of this reagent is its unusually broad cross-reactivity across eukaryotic evolution: in addition to human and mouse, it recognizes the NUP98 orthologs of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe, and the ciliate Tetrahymena, making it valuable for comparative cell biology and evolutionary studies of the nuclear pore.

Recommended applications include Western blot (WB) for detecting full-length and chimeric NUP98 proteins in cell lysates, and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) for visualizing nuclear rim localization and nucleoporin redistribution through the cell cycle. Upon receipt, aliquot the antibody into smaller volumes and store at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. For research use only.
