Anti-Nup160 Antibody

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Nup160, a ~160 kDa scaffold nucleoporin that forms the Nup107–160 subcomplex of the vertebrate nuclear pore complex. The antibody was raised in rabbit and is supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µl vial, intended for western blot and ELISA workflows against human and mouse samples.

Nup160 sits at the heart of one of the largest building blocks of the nuclear pore, anchoring the Nup107, Nup133, Nup96, Nup85, Nup43, Nup37 and Sec13 subunits that dock the pore onto the nuclear envelope during interphase and re-associate with kinetochores and spindle microtubules during mitosis. Because loss or mutation of Nup160 disrupts NPC assembly, mRNA export and mitotic fidelity, antibodies that recognise the full-length protein are used to probe nucleoporin stoichiometry, NPC biogenesis, and disease-associated variants linked to steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome.
